Supreme Court Ruling on the 10 Commandment

The U.S. Supreme Court continues to make some interesting decisions. Last week, they decided that governments could take people's property without "just cause" in my opinion. Now, they rule the 10 Commandments are OK on the State House yard as a monument but illegal to be used in a court room. I don't really get this decision.

Billy Graham jokes with photographers in New York, saying "Bring your cameras" to heaven!"

I know that people have many different opinions on Billy Graham, but I have always been impressed how he has handled the ministry. I don't know of any accusations or hints of scandel regarding him. He's continued preaching despite his health and age. I know that here in the Charlotte N.C. area, which is his hometown, he is highly respected. We even have a freeway with his name on it. "Well done, thy good and faithful servant" is a verse that I believe describes Billy Graham.

Support for Israel

This article is about how the Virginia and New England Conferences are asking "their denomination to divest stock in firms whose products have been used to destroy Palestinian homes."

I know that I do not support the destruction of anyone's home, but I believe that Israel also has the right to defend itself. The homes mentioned in the article does not let us know whose "home" was destroyed or of the circumstances. Israel has a long history of fighting terrorism, that we are only beginning to understand in the last few years with our actions in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I guess that I still believe that the promise God made in the Old Testament about blessing those who bless Abraham, and cursing those who curse Abraham, is still something we should consider. I dont think that we should blindly support everything that the nation of Israel does, but we need to be careful of trying to put an "American" point of view on the Israeli-Palestinian problem.

Ethiopian girl reportedly guarded by lions

Wow!!! I have no idea what the faith of the young girl may be, but this is truly an amazing story. I know that I would have to say that it is a miracle. It reminds me of Daniel in the Lion's den. Rich Mullins' song "Awesome God" comes to mind reading this story.

Mockingbird parents lead harried lifestyle!

I found this article to be quite neat, as I've been watching a pair of mockingbirds build a house in my apple tree. While outside with my dogs, it's fascinating to watch the birds at work. The birds were flying around picking up the lose twigs and other things to build their new home. It's fascinating to watch God's creation at work. I know that there are debates about Creation vs. Evolution. I just find it hard to believe that you can witness nature in action, and not believe in some type of "Intelligent Designer" involved. "God is good".

Boycott of Ford Motor Company

I read the story about the "Taco Bell" boycott and I found this article about a new boycott target: Ford Motor Company. The article talks about how the AFA was canceling it's boycott of Disney and would now turn it's attention to Ford. I was wondering if boycotts have any impact anymore in our society. It seems that a few decades ago, a boycott was something that did make a difference in our world. What about today?

Praise the Lord!!!

I have completed my first course on my way to my Master of Divinity. I'm attending Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and I'm taking my first 10 classes by their Semlink program. I finished all my papers and assignments and put them in the mail today. It felt better getting these assignments in the mail than it did when I finished my taxes :) Oh, it feels good to have the first class finished. I'm two months into my Church History Class and I've just registerd for my Christian Ethics Class.
