Tammy Faye Messner dies - CNN.com

I know that Jim and Tammy Bakker brought out opposing opinions, but I do remember watching PTL years ago. The show was like a Christian Variety Show (sort of like the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson). They had a lot of singing and guests. They were very popular and built PTL USA down in Fort Mill, SC. It was a very popular place in the 80's.

I did not see the interview on Larry King Thursday, but I did see photos of her from the interview. It was sad to see how cancer had destroyed her body but from what I heard, her spirit was still strong. It's the great thing for believers that while our bodies will decay and pass away, but our soul will live forever with Jesus.

I know that she is rejoicing in heaven with all the saints.

A calling behind bars

I'm proud to see my alma mater reaching out in a new, evangelistic way to those behind bars. I hope that the ACLU and others will not try to destroy this program. God Bless these brave men.

Obama Says Some Have `hijacked' Faith

I find it interesting that Obama says

"There was even a time when the Christian Coalition determined that its number one legislative priority was tax cuts for the rich," Obama said. "I don't know what Bible they're reading, but it doesn't jibe with my version."

I guess your version of the Bible does JIBE with being pro abortion, gay marriage, anti school prayer, and pro evolution.

The world will end in 2060, according to Isaac Newton

I have read that Sir Newton was a believer, but I had no idea that he was into prophecy. The article doesn't mention why he chose the foundation of the Holy Roman Empire to start his calculations. I've heard of people using the return of Jews to Israel (1948) to calculate such things.

I remember a book came out for 88 reasons why Christ would return in 1988.

I know the Bible says that no man knows that day and that it will come like a thief in the night. The important thing is to be ready for Christ's return (either the second coming or death, whichever comes first).

Christians martyred under communist rule

This is a reminder to continue to pray for our brother and sisters in Christ who face persecution. I know that when I see the faith of people like these, it makes me wonder how I would respond in their shoes. I hope that my faith would be as strong as theirs.

It reminds me of Tertullian, an early church father, who said that "the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church".

Learn about 'Idol' Jordin Sparks' Gospel roots

I never watch American Idol, but this is a great article on the winner's faith.

Surgeon General Nominee Is Assailed for Church Role - New York Times

It's amazing how powerful the homosexual lobby can be. It seems that the good Doctor, who described homosexuality as unnatural, is under attack. I don't see how anyone can consider homosexuality as normal.

Our Founders' views on the Bible in public schools

Once again, we see that our nation was founded on Biblical principles that we allowed to be take from us beginning in the 60's. It's a shame how far our country has wandered from our historical foundation.

Methodist leader equates U.S. flag to swastika!

This is another sad example of our leadership. It makes me sad to think that a percentage of my tithes and offerings are then apportioned to leaders like this.

Woman minister re-appointed – as a man

It still amazes me that we have leader in our denomination who follow the teachings of men before the teachings of God. I guess our leaders will have to deal with this again in 08 at general conference. I guess we need to pray hard that a true Wesleyan Revival would take place.

I often wonder what John Wesley would think of our denomination if he was alive today. I think he would truly be sad and disappointed.

'We must fine you because you're a Christian'

I've found another article where Christians are under attack. I know when I read of these stories, it makes be very thankful to live in the USA where we do have freedom to worship God.

Magnum Trains Bump into Each Other!

Magnum is a great ride, and the train is going very slow at the station. It's a good thing it wasn't Millenium Force, because it's still "flying" at the end of that ride. That would have been ugly.

Saudis arrest Christian for entering Mecca | Jerusalem Post

Wow, it's illegal for a "Christian" to even be in Mecca!!! Maybe the US should become more like our "Saudi" Allies and not allow muslims in our cities. I also read online where about 25% of young muslims living here in the USA believe that suicide bombings to defend their faith is OK.
