This is another sad example of our leadership. It makes me sad to think that a percentage of my tithes and offerings are then apportioned to leaders like this.

Woman minister re-appointed – as a man
It still amazes me that we have leader in our denomination who follow the teachings of men before the teachings of God. I guess our leaders will have to deal with this again in 08 at general conference. I guess we need to pray hard that a true Wesleyan Revival would take place.
I often wonder what John Wesley would think of our denomination if he was alive today. I think he would truly be sad and disappointed.

I've found another article where Christians are under attack. I know when I read of these stories, it makes be very thankful to live in the USA where we do have freedom to worship God.

Magnum Trains Bump into Each Other!
Magnum is a great ride, and the train is going very slow at the station. It's a good thing it wasn't Millenium Force, because it's still "flying" at the end of that ride. That would have been ugly.

Saudis arrest Christian for entering Mecca | Jerusalem Post
Wow, it's illegal for a "Christian" to even be in Mecca!!! Maybe the US should become more like our "Saudi" Allies and not allow muslims in our cities. I also read online where about 25% of young muslims living here in the USA believe that suicide bombings to defend their faith is OK.

The Enemy of Intimacy
Points to Ponder:
Busyness causes us to get DISTRACTED (OFF TRACK) from what is really important.
Busyness causes us to lose PERSPECTIVE.
Luke 10:38-42
At the Home of Martha and Mary
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
41 "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
1. There's a big difference between what's URGENT and what's IMPORTANT.
2. There's a difference between whats GOOD and what's BEST.
3. ACTIVITIES should never take priority over PEOPLE.
4. A lot of what we do in life may be MEASURABLE in the short run, but it's neither measurable nor MEMORABLE in the long run.
5. Our busyness is probably DRIVEN by something we aren't even AWARE of.

STREISAND DECLARES 'GLOBAL WARMING EMERGENCY
I was just wondering what your opinion on this topic is, in light of scripture. Do you believe the creature can destroy the creation? Is this just part of the cycle of hurricanes as Max Mayfield seemed to suggest? God created the seasons that we experience, so could the weather also run in same manner? What about God's Sovreignity and control of nature? Is the God we serve weaker, or no longer in control, as the God in the Bible?
I'm Back
I know that I've not been posting for the past few months. I've been busy with a few things. First, the few weeks after Katrina, I was busy reading and watching all the TV stuff on the Hurricane. It was really strange to be watching history in the making during Katrina. As many of you know, I've always been fascinated, or maybe obsessed with Hurricanes. It was truly amazing and I hope that we continue to keep those people in our prayers and continue to support them with $$$ to your favorite charity.
Second, the middle of September, I was working on completing my second seminary class. I was having to write 2 papers, and take a final exam for my Church History class. I have completed 2 classes, 28 to go. I have 2 months left in my Christian Ethics class, so I have a lot of work to do in the next few weeks. "They Will Know We Are Christians, By Our Love, ..."
Wow! I know that I use to enjoy listening to Pat on the 700 Club when I was a younger Christian in the 80's. I did not always agree, of course, but found him to be more to my liking than other TV Evangelists in the 80's. I saw where he recently was praying about more openings on the Supreme Court and now calling for the killing of a foreign leader. I'm sure we will here an apology and an explanation soon. Until then, this gives Christians a black eye.

Biblical Proves Accurate Again
Here is a story of how the Pool of Siloam was recently discovered in Jerusalem.
``Scholars have said that there wasn't a Pool of Siloam and that John was using a religious conceit'' to illustrate a point, said New Testament scholar James H. Charlesworth of the Princeton Theological Seminary. ``Now we have found the Pool of Siloam ... exactly where John said it was.''
A gospel that was thought to be ``pure theology is now shown to be grounded in history,'' he said.
I love that quote by James Charlesworth, especially about how it's exactely where John said it would be. Praise the Lord!
